We're Back
Wow, what a whirlwind trip we had! We are back from Atlanta after 3 days of travel to get there, 3 full days there, and 2 days of travel back home. We had a blast catching up with many friends and family, eating tons, visiting 2 children's museums (Indy and Atlanta), having 2 Easter egg hunts, 1 baby shower, and 1 date night (with Charlotte, which she was very excited for!) Oh, and can I tell you how amazing the weather was!!!!

It's Not H
So Charlotte saw a deck of playing cards and asked what they were. So I told her they were playing cards, and then of course because I said "playing" she wanted to play with them. OK, I thought, surely she could handle Go Fish. So I gave a quick lesson on the game and realized I needed to give her a lesson on what a number looks like (she can count, but doesn't recognize numbers yet.) So, we start playing with cards 2-5 to make it easier and I showed her how to count the shapes on her cards to match what the number was in the corner. So, she has her cards in her hand, and I'd point to a number and she would say H. "No, Charlotte, H is a letter, this is a number, let's count." And this little dialogue would go on for each turn she had. "No, Charlotte H is a letter, this is a number, let's count." So then I ask her again what one of the numbers is on her card and she looks at me, and says, "It's not H." True, so true. (It was a two by the way, which she did say!)

Ouch!
Charlotte had a run in with the pavement yesterday, poor girl! She actually handled it like a champ, because after she fell she laid there for a tad bit (she was down the block) and before I could even reach her, she was up and running again (away from me-but only cause she was running after a friend). So, I stopped worrying about her. However, then it must of hit her all of a sudden that she was hurt, because she stopped running and turned toward me, and that's when I saw red all over her face. She started running toward me, all teary eyed. (And of course I was running toward her.) It wasn't bleeding, but just a bad scrape. At first I thought it was like a bug bite, or a rash. (I know strange, considering I knew she fell, but I guess I thought her FACE wouldn't have hit the pavement.)
You would think that it would look better today, being the day after her injury, but it actually looks worse, with her eye bruising a bit. And when we were out today at the grocery store EVERYONE commented on it. Charlotte's tough though. I don't even think she realizes she's hurt until she looks in the mirror.
March Came In Like A Lamb
Yesterday was a gorgeous day in Chicago! No winter jackets, hats or mittens for us (and in the afternoon jackets were able to be shed completely.)
Between necessary appointments we headed to the park for some fresh air and for Eli's first opportunity to go in a playground swing. (he was not overly enthusiastic though!)

In case you're wondering...
...the worst sound in the world* is of a cat throwing up a big, ole hairball especially in the middle of the night when you have to rush to prevent throw up from being on your bed, couch, or carpet!
