Fess Up Friday

Lest anyone think I had a perfect week last week and had nothing to fess up to, I confess that I wrote down my faults and shortcomings last week so I could include them today, cause as it were, I was on my way to camp to scrapbook. First confession-I didn't really miss Greg and Charlotte and Elijah all that much. I was certainly glad to see them upon my return, but hardly thought about what they were up to, or what I would be missing out on at home. I know I definitely did NOT miss cleaning and cooking!

I do confess that I allowed the kids, me and Greg to wear our swimsuits at the end of October. I also confess that for a couple of hours I didn't care about how much energy we used in the house, as I kicked up the heat to 80 degrees. I also confess that I allowed the kids (and us adults) to hula hoop in the house. All this because I made Hawaiian Chicken for dinner and wanted to really create a Hawaiian theme. It was truly a blast!!!

I confess that I stood in the library for a good 10 minutes trying to figure out if I should return my library books or keep them and pay the fine. I had one I was still in the middle of, it was already late, and other people were requesting it. If I turned it in, I would of had to wait. So, yes, I was selfish, and not completely frugal, and decided to keep the book and pay the resulting larger fines. (I owed the library $2.80 today upon returning the book.) The other 2 books are new releases, and I seriously thought about keeping them, asking the librarian how many requests were out on each of the books, and even asking how many of each of these books are in the system so I could figure out when I might possibly get them in my hands again. I'm thinking 6 weeks at the most.

I also confess that I opened the garage door one night and could not for the life of me figure out why I did. It took a good 20 minutes to remember that I opened the garage so I could retrieve the hula hoops for our Hawaiian Night.

Geez, that was just last week!

This week our car broke down and was getting fixed up in Huntley by my grandparents house (that's where it was discovered it was broken). I didn't really need a car for any other reason but to take and pick up Charlotte from school, which isn't completely necessary because it is less than a 2 mile walk. I had every intention to walk on Monday, but I confess that I was too tired from my weekend of scrapbooking that I did take up my neighbor's offer of borrowing his car. I also confess that I decided not to pull out Charlotte's 2nd booster seat from the garage and was just going to buckle her straight into the seat. Well, as it happened, my neighbor's car did not have the car seat in it for Elijah to sit in (their son is just a year younger than Eli) and because time was tight I decided to drive to the school with my 2 oldest kids not properly restrained in car seats/booster seats, but just buckled into the car.

On Tuesday, as we were walking to school I realized that Charlotte did not brush her teeth at all that day. My solution? Winterfresh Mentos gum. Of course, I also need to confess that I forgot to have her spit it out before she got to school!

So, any confessions this week?
